About Glentrek - Angus outdoor activity specialists

Glentrek is owned and operated by instructor Jane Andrews, who grew up in the area.

A lifetime outdoor enthusiast who loves walking and cycling, Jane lives in the Angus Glens with her family (and Bob the collie). Jane has also hiked and wild-camped extensively in Arizona and Canada when living and working abroad. She brings all her experience to bear when promoting the outdoor activities in this area of Scotland.

Glentrek is based in the Angus town of Kirriemuir - minutes away from most of the walking treks and holiday locations.

When not working on Glentrek activities, Jane is an active member of the Outdoor Angus business group.

Our Qualified Instructors

We employ qualified instructors to guide walks or lead other activities. These instructors have a passion for the outdoors and are fully committed to providing a safe enjoyable experience for all.

Michael McLaggan

One of our instructors, Mike has been active in the outdoors industry for nearly 20 years and is owner of Angus based outdoor adventure business Highway 2.

Mike is on his third round of Scotland's Munros having completed all 283 of them twice, so he has a vast knowledge of the Scottish Mountains. In addition he has climbed extensively in the Alps and holds a variety of outdoor qualifications. These include both Summer and Winter Mountain Leader Awards, Single Pitch Award, Trail Cycle Award and others. Mike is a National Navigation Awards course provider and active member of the Tayside Mountain Rescue team.

Nick Cole

Nick, who guides on many of Glentrek’s walking holidays, is owner of local outdoor activity business NSC Design

Having developed a love of the outdoors during an earlier career in the armed forces, Nick now has his own guiding and wild camping business. He also runs the East Perthshire health walking group which takes people of all abilities into the hills, developing many from novices into serious, competent hillwalkers. Nick holds both Summer and Winter Mountain Leader Awards and delivers National Navigation Awards training.
